Breast Surgical Oncology
What do you like about this program?
The Ottawa program is extremely supportive in all aspects: clinical, research, and wellness. The size of the program is perfect in that we have basically every subspecialty but only 2 sites so you will get to know every staff and won’t be bouncing around needing to get to know new places for every rotation. After year 2 you’ve basically met everyone and know the sites well.
What do you hope for this program?
That we continue to focus on the wellness of our residents as well as generating excellent surgeons.
What do you like about training residents?
They challenge me and force me to be on top of my game to make sure I’m giving them the best and most evidence based training.
What is your favourite thing to teach?
Breast oncoplastics
What is the thing you’re the most proud of in your professional life?
Coming back to Ottawa as a staff officially as a breast surgical oncologist
