Abby Salman, Program Administrator
What did you do for education?
I went to school to become Paralegal then decided that was not the right fit for me. I decided to do my medical aesthetics license as it has always been something I was passionate about and started working with Plastic Surgeons and working closely with their patients.
How did you become our program coordinator?
Working with Plastic Surgeons I was exposed to the world of surgery. I coordinated their surgeries and enjoyed it. From there I was offered an opportunity to work with the general surgery program.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
My favourite part is being a part of the journey for our future general surgeons.
What is your goal for our program?
My goal is to support the general surgery program in any way I can. I hope to be a resource for all the residents and for them to know I am here to help with anything.
What do you do outside of work?
When I am not in the office, I am either spending time with my five siblings, husband, and friends or cooking up a storm in the kitchen. I love skiing and skating during the winter and visiting my home country, Kuwait, during the summer.
What should people know about you?
I am someone who loves meeting new people and making connections. I’m open-minded, approachable and a good listener.
